Configuring WhatsApp settings

About this task

Use this procedure to configure WhatsApp settings for the native media types such as documents, audios, images, stickers, and videos. You can configure the file types and file sizes to upload and download to and from WhatsApp messages for each media type.

Procedure

  1. Start Omnichannel Administration Utility.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Web Chat/Messaging.
  3. Click WhatsApp.
  4. In Outbound file types allowed, click Set Types to configure the file types for the outbound transfer of messages.
  5. In the Configure File Transfer Types dialog box, select the required file extensions from the Available Types list to the Selected list using the arrow (>>,>,<,<<) buttons. For more information on the file types allowed for each media type, see Available file types for WhatsApp media types.
  6. In Inbound file types allowed, click Set Types to configure the file types for inbound messages.
  7. In the Configure File Transfer Types dialog box, select the required file extensions from the Available Types list to the Selected list using the arrow (>>,>,<,<<) buttons.
  8. Click Save.
  9. To set the allowed file sizes, in the File transfer sizes section, select the required Media Type.

    The following are the Media Types and the maximum allowed file size in KB:

    • document - 25600

    • audio - 16384

    • image - 5120

    • sticker - 100

    • video - 16384

  10. Click Edit.

    The Edit file transfer sizes for <selected > media type dialog box is displayed.

  11. In Max outbound file size, the maximum allowed size is entered by default. You can edit this to decrease the size if required.
  12. In Max inbound file size, the maximum allowed size is entered by default. You can edit this to decrease the size if required.
  13. Click Save.
