Depending on the release you are currently using, you might need to perform several upgrade or migration procedures. For example, to upgrade Avaya Aura® Device Services Release 8.1.5 to Release 10.1.1.1, follow paths 4, 5, and 6.
This document focuses on the upgrade process for path 7. For information about migration and upgrade processes for previous releases, see the following documents:
Important:
Perform the system layer update before upgrading Avaya Aura® Device Services.
Avaya Aura® Device Services does not support rollback with the migration process.
Starting from Release 10.1.1, you can deploy Avaya Aura® Device Services in an environment without Avaya Aura®. In this mode, Avaya Aura® Device Services does not require Avaya Aura® components, such as System Manager or Session Manager, to operate. However, you cannot select this option when upgrading from Release 10.1.0 to 10.1.1. After upgrading to Release 10.1.1, Avaya Aura® Device Services continues to operate in an Avaya Aura® environment. To use Avaya Aura® Device Services in an environment without Avaya Aura®, you must fresh install Avaya Aura® Device Services.
