For enterprise users registered on Avaya Spaces, you can enable synchronization for work and mobile phone number types. When you enable synchronization for a specific phone number type, Avaya Aura® Device Services imports appropriate phones numbers configured on LDAP into Avaya Spaces user profiles. Therefore, when phone number synchronization is enabled, Avaya Spaces user profiles contain both phone numbers configured on Avaya Spaces and phone numbers imported from LDAP.
Avaya Aura® Device Services updates the imported numbers in the Avaya Spaces database when synchronizing data with Avaya Spaces or LDAP.
Avaya Spaces and LDAP numbers are controlled by Avaya Spaces and LDAP respectively. You cannot modify LDAP numbers from the Avaya Spaces administration portal. If you try to modify an imported number, Avaya Aura® Device Services will revert changes when synchronizing data between Avaya Aura® Device Services and Avaya Spaces databases. From the Avaya Spaces administration portal, you can modify Avaya Spaces numbers and cannot modify LDAP numbers.
Note:
If the same phone number is configured for a user both on Avaya Spaces and in LDAP, Avaya Aura® Device Services considers this phone number as an LDAP phone number.
When you disable synchronization for a specific phone number type, Avaya Aura® Device Services removes from user profiles all phone numbers of that type that were imported from LDAP. Phone numbers of that type configured on Avaya Spaces remain in user profiles.
Important:
If the same phone number is configured for a user both on Avaya Spaces and in LDAP, then, when you disable phone number synchronization, Avaya Aura® Device Services removes this phone number from the user's Avaya Spaces profile.
