Number adaptation overview

Last Updated : May 31, 2022 |

A number adaptation converts calling and called party numbers from the local dial plan of a SIP entity to the dial plan administered on the Configuration Server, and vice versa. You can configure a number adaptation for all incoming and outgoing calls so that the contact center routes the calls correctly. For example, you can use a number adaptation to convert E.164 numbers to extensions with the length determined by a dial plan.

On the Number Adaptation screen, when adding and editing number adaptations, you can manage number adaptation configuration parameters, such as the number adaptation name and description. For the Routing Core Server to identify dialed numbers or agent login IDs, you need to configure the pattern that the contact center matches to the beginning of the number string. You can type up to 36 characters to specify the matching pattern. You can also specify the number of digits that you need to delete from or insert before the number string.
