Adding VDNs

About this task

Add a VDN and configure a VDN settings, such as an extension, a name, or permission sets. You can assign variables to a VDN to configure different call flows within one vector and reduce the number of vectors for your contact center.

Procedure

  1. On the Configuration Server web portal, go to Administration > Contact Center > Vector Directory Numbers (VDNs).
  2. At the top-right corner of the Vector Directory Numbers screen, click the Add icon.

    The Configuration Server displays the VDN configuration fields.

  3. On the top half of the screen, in Extension, type the extension associated with the VDN.

    You can type a maximum of 16 digits.

  4. In Name, type the VDN name.

    You can type a maximum of 35 Unicode characters. Agent phones display the VDN name when the agent presses the VDN info button.

  5. On the Basic Information subtab, click the Vector field and select the required vector from the Vectors pane on the right.
  6. In Permission Sets (COR), select the required permission set for the VDN extension from the CORs pane on the right.

    You can configure permission sets on the Permission Sets (COR) screen of the System tab.

  7. Configure the remaining fields on the Basic Information subtab.
  8. Click the Variables Information subtab.
  9. In Description, type a short description for the VDN variable.

    You can type a maximum of 50 Unicode characters.

  10. In Assignment, next to the required variable number, type the VDN variable.

    You can type digits from 0 to 9. You can assign up to 9 variables to a VDN.

  11. Optional Repeat steps from 9 to 10 to configure all the required VDN variables.
  12. At the top-right corner of the screen, click Commit.

    The Configuration Server saves the VDN configuration and redirects you to the Vector Directory Numbers screen.
