Terminal group overview

On the Terminal Groups screen, you can create a terminal group to set up common network parameters for a group of endpoints. When configuring a terminal group, you must specify a terminal group number to apply these settings to the endpoints that you assigned to the group. On the endpoints, you can later select the required group number in the Administration menu.

When managing terminal group settings, you can also set up service quality parameters. The service quality parameters determine the priority of different types of packets for SIP traffic. For example, if you set Call Control PHB to a value higher than Audio PHB, the contact center sends call control packets first if the network bandwidth is low.

Terminal groups and network locations use the same set of parameters for endpoints. The contact center assigns a terminal group to endpoints based on the configured group number. Network location assignment is based on the endpoint IP address. If endpoint settings match both a terminal group and a network location, the terminal group overrides the network location.
