Adding a VDN variable

Last Updated : Apr 21, 2022 |

About this task

Add a VDN variable to collect the extension number of the active or last VDN associated with the call. The number of digits assigned to a VDN variable depend on the dial plan that the contact center uses. You can add a VDN variable to reduce the number of vectors that use specific VDNs.

Procedure

  1. On the Configuration Server web portal, go to Administration > Contact Center > Vector Variables.
  2. At the top-right corner of the Vector Variables screen, click the Add icon.

The Configuration Server displays the variable configuration fields.

  3. In Name, type the variable name.

You can type a maximum of 20 letters of the basic Latin script.

  4. In Type, select vdn.
  5. In Assignment, select one of the following:
    • active: To collect the extension number of the active VDN.

    • latest: To collect the extension number of the last VDN associated with the call.

  6. In Description, type a short description for the variable.

You can type a maximum of 50 Unicode characters.

  7. At the top-right corner of the screen, click Commit.

The Configuration Server saves the variable configuration and redirects you to the Vector Variables screen.
