Configuring number adaptations

Last Updated : Apr 21, 2022 |

About this task

Add number adaptations and configure multiple matching patterns for incoming and outgoing calls within one number adaptation. The Routing Core Server selects the best matching pattern to apply the adaptation.

Procedure

  1. On the Configuration Server web portal, go to Administration > System > Number Adaptations.
  2. At the top-right corner of the Number Adaptations screen, click the Add icon.

The Configuration Server displays the number adaptation configuration fields.

  3. On the top half of the screen, in Name, type the number adaptation name.

You can type a maximum of 35 Unicode characters.

  4. Optional In Description, type a short description for the number adaptation.

You can type a maximum of 50 Unicode characters.

  5. On the lower half of the screen, on the Incoming subtab, click Add Number Adaptation for Incoming to configure a number adaptation for incoming calls.
  6. In Matching Pattern, type the digits that the Routing Core Server uses to identify dialed numbers or agent login IDs.

You can type a maximum of 36 digits. The Routing Core Server matches the entered digits to the beginning of the number string.

  7. In Min Length, type the minimum number of digits to match.

    The minimum value is 1.

  8. In Max Length, type the maximum number of digits to match.

    The maximum value is 36.

  9. In Address to Modify, select one of the following:
    • called: The Routing Core Server applies the number adaptation to the called party number. In the call metadata, the From, P-Asserted-Identity, and History-Info SIP headers are adapted.

    • calling: The Routing Core Server applies the number adaptation to the calling party number. In the call metadata, the To, Request URI, and Refer-To SIP headers are adapted.

    • both: The Routing Core Server applies the number adaptation to the number with the longest matching pattern.

  10. In Delete, type the number of digits that you want to delete from the beginning of the number string.

If you type a zero, the Routing Core Server does not delete digits from the beginning of the number string.

  11. Optional In Insert, enter the number of digits that you want to insert before the call number.
  12. Optional In Comments, enter additional information about this number adaptation.

You can type a maximum of 50 Unicode characters.

  13. To configure a number adaptation for outgoing calls, click the Outgoing subtab, then click Add Number Adaptation for Outgoing, and repeat steps 6 to 12.
  14. At the top-right corner of the screen, click Commit.

The Configuration Server saves the number adaptation configuration and redirects you to the Number Adaptations screen.
