Avaya Device Adapter Loadware management

Last Updated : Dec 22, 2022 |
Prolog information
Before Release 10.1, Avaya Device Adapter did not support loadware management.
From Release 10.1, you can administer the loadware management feature using CLI commands and it is ideal for websites where you need to to update UNIStim endpoints or MGCs but you cannot arrange a window for snap-in updates. The feature does not support Web UI.
The following table lists CLI commands with their respective descriptions that Avaya Device Adapter supports:

Description
Notes
daLoadFile <path_to_file>
To add new firmwares or loadwares.
The command makes the file visible to other firmware or loadware management commands. The file is copied by daLoadFile into the snap-in main directory. This directory is cleaned up when the snap-in is updated or re-installed.
mgcLoadwareShow
To list all locally available MGC loadwares.
mgcSwitchLoadware --all <lw_version>
To switch loadware for all MGCs.
You can use mgcSwitchLoadware --all MGCCNG11 to switch all MGCs to CSP loadware NG11.
Important:
mgcSwitchLoadware does not force loadware updates by default. Updates are done when MGCs re-register or during mgcUpgrade.
mgcSwitchLoadware --ipmg <Shelf-Loop> <lw_version>
To switch loadware for a specific MGC.
To update the loadware for only MGC 4-0, use the mgcSwitchLoadware --ipmg 4-0 MGCCNG11 command.
Important:
mgcSwitchLoadware does not force loadware updates by default. Updates are done when MGCs re-register or during mgcUpgrade.
Important:
Any upgrades to the Avaya Device Adapter Snap-in deletes the saved CLI command settings in the endpoints.
