Configuring off-hook alerts implementation

Last Updated : Dec 09, 2021 |
Prolog information
From Release 10.1, the Off-hook alerts (OHA) functionality allows phones to automatically make calls to a pre-specified directory number (OHADN) after a pre-specified time interval (OHATimeout), and after the Dial Tone timeout has passed, that is, when a user goes off-hook.
When a call is made to OHADN, an alarm is sent to the Avaya Aura® System Manager as part of the OHA functionality.
This functionality can assist patients in hospitals, where a patient can pick up the phone but cannot dial a number. Apart from hospital assistance, incidents occurred in the past where a telephone receiver was used as a weapon, but implementing this feature helps to track such incidents in time.
  1. Navigate to ElementsAvaya BreezeConfigurationAttributes.
  2. To configure values for attributes in the Off Hook Alert section, do the following:
    • On a cluster level, click the Service Clusters tab, select the appropriate application cluster, and select the service as DeviceAdapter.
    • On a global level, click the Service Global tab and select the service as DeviceAdapter.
  3. On the Attributes Configuration page, navigate to the Off Hook Alert section.
  4. To override the default value of an attribute, select the Override Default check box corresponding to the attribute.
  5. In the DN for Off Hook Alert field, in Effective Value, type the directory number to where the call is made after the OHA timer expires.
  6. In the Off Hook Alert timeout field, in Effective Value, type the time in seconds after the Dial Tone timeout passes and a call is made to the OHADN.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Note:
By default, the OHA functionality is disabled and the value in the Off Hook Alert timeout field is 0. Type time in seconds in the Effective Value field to enable the OHA functionality.
  7. Click Commit.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Note:
Any change made to default values of the OHA attributes results in an automatic reboot of the phones to implement the specified changes.
