Before Release 10.1, Avaya Device Adapter did not support firmware management.
From Release 10.1, you can administer the firmware management feature using the following CLI commands to manage Unistim phone firmware:
  • Use the umsFirmwareShow command to list all locally available firmware of the UNIStim phone.
  • Use the umsSwitchFirmware <fw_version> command to switch firmware of a specific phone type.
For example, to switch 1150E to C9B, you can use the umsSwitchFirmware 0627C9B command, and to revert the change, use the umsSwitchFirmware command. Also, if the snap-in is delivered with the C99 firmware line-up, by default, use the umsSwitchFirmware 0627C99 command to switch 1150E back to C99.
All available firmwares are stored in /opt/Avaya/da/tps/allfw/ directory. Users should check if they have permission to copy files and can copy the required firmware to the directory.
Note:
umsSwitchFirmware does not force firmware updates. The updates are done following the UMS policies when phones re-register.
The user should check all firmware stored in the directory for file read permissions before using new commands.
