Use the following procedure to configure XPORT 9408. XPORT 9408 is used to support features such as Hotline, Speed Dial, Multiple Appearance DN, and Short Hunt.
Log in to Communication Manager with the appropriate administrative credentials.
Create a new endpoint.
Select 9408_DEFAULT_CM_8_0 in the Template field.
Confirm the value X is populated into the Port field.
Enter an appropriate value in the Extension field.
Click Commit.
Select the CS1K-IP endpoint.
Select the Button Assignment tab.
Go to a blank line in the Button Configurations section.
Select brdg-appr in the Button Feature column.
Enter a in the Argument-1 column.
Enter the extension number used earlier in this procedure in the Argument-2 column.
Enter n for the silent ring option or r for the audible ring option in the Argument-3 column.
Select the General Options tab.
Enter the mnemonics in the Features field that correspond to the feature being configured.
