Prolog information
This topic explains how a hotline intercom call along with the No Answer Indication feature is handled in a boss and secretary environment.
For example, phone A is the boss’s phone and phone B is the secretary’s phone. The following HTLI mnemonic is configured on phone A and phone B:
  • Phone A: ext1001, button 2 – bridg-app to X-port 2001. Mnemonics: HFA HTLI2N2002F2002
  • Phone B: ext1002, button 2 – bridg-app to X-port 2002. Mnemonics: HFA HTLI2N2001F2001
Note:
From Release 10.1, the No Answer Indication feature is a part of the Hotline Intercom call feature.
  1. Phone B with NAIA mnemonic is idle. Phone A presses Hotline Intercom button associated with phone B. Hotline Intercom call is auto answered on phone B.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
After Hotline Intercom call is released, Hotline Intercom button on phone B goes dark (idle) if phone B user does one of the following actions:
    1. goes off-hook when Hotline Intercom call was active,
    2. press active Hotline Intercom button,
    3. press Handsfree button when Hotline Intercom call was active, or
    4. press Release button when Hotline Intercom call was active.
    STEP RESULT:
If Phone A user releases Hotline Intercom call before phone B user answers the call, Hotline Intercom button on phone B winks.
  2. Phone B with NAIA mnemonic is busy. Phone A presses Hotline Intercom button associated with phone B. Hotline Intercom call is not auto answered on phone B.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
If Phone A user releases Hotline Intercom call before phone B user answers, then Hotline Intercom button on phone B winks, otherwise the button goes dark (idle) after the call is released.
  3. If Phone B user presses winking Hotline Intercom button, the button goes dark (idle) and becomes ready to perform Hotline Intercom outgoing calls.
  4. No new indication occurs if Phone B does not have NAIA mnemonic.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Important:
The no answer visual indication for Hotline Intercom feature (winking Hotline Intercom button) disappears, if the corresponding Device Adapter UNIStim or digital phone is unsubscribed and subscribed on Avaya Aura®. For example, if the phones are unregistered and registered in Device Adapter, as a result of major phone change in System Manager or restart of the Avaya Breeze® or Device Adapter services.
