This section describes how to initially configure Avaya Oceana® to support Email contacts. The chapter includes the procedures required to route Email contacts, for more information about optional tasks or how to change default configuration, see Administering Avaya Oceana®.
Important:
You must install and actively manage a SPAM filter to remove SPAM messages from all contact center mailboxes. If you do not filter unsolicited bulk SPAM messages in Avaya Oceana®, they can impact the performance or can cause damage to your contact center solution. Do not use the Avaya Oceana® Email Service as a SPAM filtering tool.
Avaya Oceana® Email Service does not support Email Source Routes. (RFC2821 Section C) This email format is deprecated. Configure your Email Servers to treat Source Route emails as SPAM. Do not relay Source Route emails to mailboxes monitored by the Avaya Oceana® Email Service.
Avaya Oceana® does not support incoming emails greater than 30MB in size. Ensure that the emails greater than 30MB in size are removed from your email system before Avaya Oceana® downloads the email.
