Configuring email settings

Last Updated : Apr 08, 2022 |

About this task

You can configure email settings for email messages entering your mailboxes for:

  • how frequently you scan the email server for new messages.

  • the location in which attachments are stored.

  • automatic numbering of email messages.

  • text search result for the keywords used for rules.

Procedure

  1. Start Omnichannel Administration Utility.
  2. In the navigation pane, click E-mail.
  3. Click General Settings.
  4. In the Message Properties section, do the following:
    • In the AutoNumber outgoing E-mail field, select the Customer ID check box or Contact ID check box or both.

Select the check box to number the email message automatically with either the customer ID, the contact ID, or both. The number appears in the subject of the message for identification. You can optionally add customer ID or contact ID, or both to the outgoing emails. This helps customers to track emails.

    • Select the Include E-mail body in keyword search check box to enable a keyword search in the body of the email message.

    • In the Search first characters field, type the number of characters in the content of the body of the email message that you search for keywords.

  5. In the Attachment section, in the Maximum outbound attachment size field, type the size of the email. This indicates the maximum size of outbound email allowed in Avaya Oceana®, including the email attachments.
  6. In the Mailbox section, do the following:
    1. In the Scan Interval field, type the time in minutes. This indicates the interval at which the mailbox scans for new incoming email messages from the email servers.
    2. In the Max active Emails field, type the number of active emails.

Active emails are the maximum number of emails in the mailbox that are not closed. After the mailbox reaches this limit, you cannot read any email messages from the mail servers until the current number of emails drop below this limit. Avaya Oceana® supports up to 25000 active emails.

      Important:
      • To support 25000 emails in queue, you must increase the Platform Space Container Heap Size (MB) attribute value on the Common Cluster to 600.

      • To support a maximum of 25000 active emails, you must also configure specific ContextStoreManager attributes.

For more information on queued emails, see the note on Queued emails in the Capacity specifications topic of Deploying Avaya Oceana®.

  7. Click Save.
