Considerations for administering access to tenant data

Consider the following when working with tenant permissions:
  • Ensure that the users you want to manage have been added on the User Data page.
  • A user ID must first have permissions for the ACD on which the tenant resides before tenant permissions can be assigned.
  • Users can only access the specific tenants for which they have permissions. Before you assign access to specific tenants from the Tenant Access page, the user must also have permissions for the Tenant feature on the Feature Access page.
  • You can grant a normal user or administrator Read and Write permissions for tenant assignments. With the Write permission, the user can change tenant assignments for the specified tenants to which they have access.
  • You can also grant a tenant user access to specific tenants. However, tenant users cannot have Write permissions for the Tenant feature so they cannot change tenant assignments.
  • A user ID cannot be assigned the Write permission without also having the Read permission.
  • When the permissions definition for a user is added or modified, the permission changes do not take effect until the user logs out and logs in again.
  • The wildcard characters * and ? are not supported.
