Adding a printer in the Web Client

Prolog information
After setting up a printer on
  1. Navigate to AdministrationMaintenancePrinter Administration.
    STEP RESULT:
    CMS Supervisor displays the printers currently administered.
  2. Click Add Printer.
  3. In the CMS printer name field, enter the name of the new printer.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    The name assigned to the printer must be unique from all other installed printers, but it can be assigned the same name it was given during the operating system administration.
  4. In the LP printer name field, enter the name assigned to the printer when it was administered for the operating system.
  5. In the Description field, enter any additional information to identify the printer.
  6. From the IBM graphic characters list, select Yes if the printer uses IBM graphic characters.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Otherwise, ensure that No is selected.
  7. In the Lines per page field, enter the number of lines that fit on a page.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    The default is 66 lines. CMS formats reports to correspond to the value in this field.
  8. From Print type, select one of the following options:
    • Normal: This is the default setting.
    • Other: Select this option to customize the print type. In the corresponding field, enter the specific print type; for example, pica, elite, or compressed.
  9. From the Banners list, select Yes if you want a banner to be printed for every job.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    A banner is a cover sheet that identifies the user who requested the print job.
  10. Click OK to save your changes.
